A portfolio can contain one or more portfolios and projects. A project is always part of one portfolio. Portfolios have their own set of reports giving a view over the contained projects. Portfolios are used to create a project hierarchy. You can view projects under same portfolio in same gantt structure and same indicators. You can use Portfolios also as filters in some reports and list views. Portfolios do not have an editable project plan.
