Create, edit and delete an opportunity

Create a new opportunity

  1. Go to Sales & Marketing > Opportunities.
  2. Click New Opportunity.
  3. Add Name, Owner, Close date and Contact/Account.
  4. Select opportunity items.
  5. Fill in other necessary information and click Save as New.

Edit an opportunity

  1. Go to Sales & Marketing > Opportunities.
  2. Edit an opportunity either by:
    • Click on the opportunity and in the summary view click Edit or
    • Click the pencil icon of the opportunity you want to edit.
  3. After you have done the changes, click Save.

Delete an opportunity

  1. Go to Sales & Marketing > Opportunities.
  2. Delete an opportunity either by:
    • Click on the checkbox of the opportunity you want to delete and click Delete or
    • Click the Name of the opportunity and in the summary page click Delete.

Note: All users might not be able to delete or modify opportunities. It depends on the user rights of the role. Check with your company’s power user if uncertain.

Add opportunity items to an opportunity

  1. Go to Opportunity items category.
  2. Click Add oppotunity item or Select Price Book.
  3. All fields become visible by clicking the arrow on the right.
  4. Add Name, Billing type and Inv. period.
  5. Check and fill other necessary fields.

Note: Opportunity item inherits values from the selected product. By selecting a price book, all the items from the price book are added as separate opportunity items.

Form fields with dependencies

The values of following fields are dependent on other fields in the opportunity form:

  • Values of Status and Sales stage fields insert default values to the Probability field (eg. Qualified corresponds to 50% probability).
  • If the Close date of an opportunity is changed to closing before the Valid from date of the opportunity item, the date of the opportunity item is automatically set as the same as the Close date.
