How to change the account owner

  1. Go to Sales & Marketing > Accounts.
  2. Search the account and click the edit icon on the corresponding row.
  3. Select Account owner from the dropdown list.
  4. Click Save.

Changing the owner of the account will change the owner of the linked contacts as well. You can’t change owner of a contact, since the ownership is inherited.

Changing account owner can affect some default and customer specific reports. New account owner may belong to a different team than the previous owner. Change causes all account history also to show up under the new owner and the new team.

Changing account owner will not change:

  • Opportunity ownership
  • Sales Order ownership
